Details

The project aims to develop "SeniorConnect," an accessible, voice-first application designed to facilitate social interaction and light assistance for seniors by connecting them with trusted local volunteers. The app addresses the growing need for accessible technology solutions that cater to the elderly, who may face challenges with traditional digital interfaces. By incorporating features such as one-tap requests, scheduled check-ins, language matching, and volunteer verification, the app ensures a seamless and secure user experience. The design will prioritize high-contrast visuals, large fonts, and screen-reader compatibility to accommodate users with varying levels of vision and hearing. The ultimate goal is to empower seniors to maintain social connections and receive assistance in a manner that respects their independence and enhances their quality of life.

Deliverables

The deliverables for this project include a fully functional prototype of the SeniorConnect app, complete with voice-first interaction capabilities and user-friendly design elements. The app will feature one-tap request functionality, scheduled check-ins, and language matching. Additionally, it will include volunteer verification processes and easy-to-use call/video tools. The design will be optimized for accessibility, incorporating high-contrast visuals, large fonts, and screen-reader compatibility to ensure usability for seniors.
