Online Website Design

Our company advertises thousands of products online. We hope to gain a renewed understanding of the features and design that our target market would expect in our website. We would like to collaborate with students to produce a design prototype informed by real customer input and feedback that we can bring to a developer for implementation. This will involve several different steps for the students, including: Conducting user interviews and research on our industry, our target market, and desired website features. Designing a wireframe prototype for our website and mapping out user interactions. Documenting the design process and any additional insights that emerge. Testing the prototype with customers and surveying for feedback. Refining design ideas with input from experts and customers. Prototyping multiple versions of a design that includes the desired website features.

Creating Graphic Design Assets

Community of Guardians is a fast-growing nonprofit platform using science, storytelling, and community action to guide people toward sustainability. Our mission is to rebuild trust in science, celebrate unsung science heroes, and inspire measurable, real-world action. We are looking to elevate our visual identity through fresh, inspiring, and accessible design assets that reflect our superhero-themed brand and community-powered mission. The goal is to support brand recognition, membership engagement, and promote our “What’s My Number?” quiz — a tool that helps users discover which SDG they’re most called to protect. This project will involve: Creating a refreshed branding guide that aligns with our existing superhero theme but elevates our visual identity with more polish, consistency, and emotional impact. Designing graphic assets to support ongoing campaigns, including the What’s My Number quiz, membership recruitment, and SDG Superhero spotlight series. Proposing and creating new visual assets for our social media, website, videos, and print materials — using Canva or similar tools. Exploring creative ways to visually connect our 17 SDG superheroes with storytelling, identity, and calls to action.

Mission: Planet Possible Video Series Production

Community of Guardians is embarking on an exciting initiative to create a video series titled "Mission: Planet Possible." The aim is to spotlight scientists and sustainability changemakers who are making significant contributions to environmental conservation and sustainable practices. The project involves producing a 5-episode series where Sheridan students will conduct interviews with these experts. The goal is to develop engaging and action-oriented content that will inspire the public to engage more deeply with sustainability issues. This project provides an opportunity for students to apply their classroom knowledge in media production, communication, and environmental studies to real-world scenarios. Students will work collaboratively with our project team to follow our existing episode template, using the pilot episode as a guide. Each episode will amplify science in plain language, include a call to action, and aim to rebuild public trust in science by making it accessible, inspiring, and solutions-focused. This project will involve several stages, including: Collaborating with our creative lead to adapt the Mission: Planet Possible branding and theme for a full 5-episode arc. Planning interviews with 5 scientists (selected with our team) who are working on issues aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Researching each scientist’s work and co-creating storyboards and scripts for their interviews. Recording, editing, and producing each video episode with strong storytelling and visual appeal. Designing a video intro/outro, and potentially creating episode-specific graphics or animations. Ensuring the videos include clear and engaging calls to action for viewers to get involved. The series will serve as a platform to amplify the voices of those driving positive change and encourage viewers to take actionable steps towards sustainability.
